There is an intense and growing need for people to have something they can believe in, something that demands and engages their deepest longings. They seek to ensure that their lives are fueled by passion, have meaning, and that they are needed in the world. And they are not finding this in work. Somewhere along the way, we have lost our humanity in corporate America, and therefore, our inspiration. Why is this tragic? Because, apart from the human anguish and suffering that such a chronic state of discontent causes, we live in a capitalist society, one of whose main engines is commerce. So, if we botch this critical source of livelihood and exchange, we risk losing everything. Reclaiming our passion for corporate life, and reinfusing work with inspiration, is imperative.
