So, your company’s purpose is well understood and lived. Great. But there’s more. Organizational purpose should never be a one-stop North Star baked into its operational code – the changing world is much too dynamic to suit this static model. What is necessary for a vibrant, relevant enterprise that positively impacts its stakeholders is a Purpose Upgrade. A Purpose Upgrade can be implemented across an enterprise in response to major changes in the internal or external environment of material concern to a business, as well as periodically in line with planning cycles and regular reviews. The potential for a Purpose Upgrade is always available and can never be exhausted. Our changing world requires us to be ever vigilant in maintaining the situational intelligence and adaptability needed to further repurpose and revitalize our activity whenever this is necessary or useful.
